DJ Jazzy Jeff Philadelphia, Pennsylvania placeholder Jeffrey Allen Townes (born January 22, 1965), also known as DJ Jazzy Jeff or simply Jazz, is an American hip hop and R&B disc jockey, record producer, turntablist and actor who is best known for his early career with Will Smith as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. With M3, DJ Jazzy Jeff celebrates unhindered creativity. He enlists world-class musicians from his PLAYLIST artist network, Daniel Crawford, Kaidi Tatham, and Philadelphia collective Killiam Shakespeare, to set the tone from this highly anticipated project. The Magnificent is the first studio album by DJ Jazzy Jeff. It was released via BBE and Rapster Records on September 12, 2002.

Critical reception[edit]

At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, The Magnificent received an average score of 75% based on 11 reviews, indicating 'generally favorable reviews'.[3]

In 2004, Philadelphia Weekly placed it at number 25 on the '100 Best Philly Albums of All Time' list.[9]
